Code of Conduct Policy

The AEGEAN CONFERENCES annual meetings are convened for the purposes of professional development and scholarly and educational interchange in the spirit of free inquiry and free expression. Harassment of colleagues, students, or other conference participants undermines the principle of equity at the heart of these professional fora and is inconsistent with the principles of free inquiry and free expression. Consequently, harassment is considered by AEGEAN CONFERENCES to be a serious form of professional misconduct.

The following Code of Conduct Policy outlines expectations for all those who attend or participate in Aegean Conferences meetings. It reminds Aegean Conferences meeting participants that all professional academic ethics and norms apply as standards of behavior and interaction at these meetings.

Aegean Conferences’ procedures for addressing violations of the code of conduct policy currently apply to all attendees at the Aegean Conferences annual meeting, conferences, and workshops. Any attendee of the Aegean Conferences Annual Meeting & Exhibition or the Aegean Conferences International Workshops may pursue a complaint of sexual harassment regarding an incident that has occurred.

Aegean Conferences expects attendees to conform their conduct at these meetings to the policies of their employing institution or company. If we learn of improper conduct by an attendee, we will take appropriate action, including reporting such conduct to the attendee's employing institution or company and barring the attendee from participation in its meetings. Furthermore, Aegean Conferences reserves the right to remove an individual from its meetings without warning or refund.
