16th Aegean meeting on Complement Therapeutics: Dedication to Prof. John Lambris on his 70th birthday

Description

Dear members of the Aegean community,

The 16th International Conference on Complement Therapeutics has gone down in history as another successful instalment of the longest running conference series dedicated to complement structure, function, pathobiology and therapeutics. This year's program featured a diversified collection of fascinating talks and poster presentations covering multiple cutting-edge topics of complement biology and therapeutic design. The greater participation of young PIs and early-stage researchers reflects the growing engagement of the next generation of scientists in a field that continually evolves, revealing new and unexpected functions and clinical opportunities for therapeutic complement modulation.

That said, we would like to thank each and everyone of you for joining us in Loutraki and contributing with your presentation to a vibrant and productive scientific exchange that is the key driver of the success of these conferences.

We would also like to thank you for joining us in the surprise celebration of John's 70th birthday. Your insightful recollections of how you collaborated with John tackling common scientific challenges and pushing the boundaries into new frontiers, as well as your personal reflections on John's broader impact in our field were deeply appreciated and will remain a greatly cherished highlight of our meeting.

A first collection of video highlights from the surprise celebration for John has been posted in the following link:

In anticipation of next year's Aegean meeting we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your contribution and wish you all a relaxing and refreshing summer season!

With our warmest regards,

Lubka and Dimitris
