Ten years ago we organized the conference  “20 Years of Nonlinear Dynamics in Geosciences”. The conference took place in Rhodes, Greece through Aegean Conferences, a company based in the US. The meeting was endorsed by the American Meteorological Society and the European Geosciences Union (now EGS). The meeting was well attended and a volume over 600 pages was produced afterwards including all papers and forwarded by the late Professor Edward Lorenz. A summary of the meeting also appeared at EOS, 88, 29, 2007.

Ten years later we are organizing “30 years of Nonlinear Dynamics in Geosciences”. The aim is to gather leaders in the field of Nonlinear Dynamics to discuss problems, review new advances, and look toward the future. Topics in all areas of Nonlinear dynamics (chaos, scaling, fractals and multifractals, nonlinear time series analysis, causality, complex systems, complex networks, extreme events, to mention a few) and in all areas of Geosciences (Atmospheric Sciences, Climate Dynamics, Hydrology, Geology and Geophysics, Space Physics, Oceanography, etc.) are welcomed.

The conference will take place in Rhodes, Greece, 3-8 July, 2016. Like the previous meeting this meeting will expose scientists from many research areas to common themes and will provide a unique interdisciplinary forum that is seldom seen in geophysics meetings.
